Environmental Science Major Urges Students to Switch From Tinder to Bumble to Save the Bees

PITTSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA — Bumblebee species have declined 69% percent in the last 10 years. Misty Rainbow, an environmental science major, believes she has the answer to halting their extinction before they go ghost.

“In our pursuit of Netflix and chill, we must not forget our roots: the birds and the bees. In solidarity with our flying friends, I urge dating app users to switch from Tinder to Bumble.” I asked her if Bumble donates a portion of its profits to an environmental protection agency, or if Bumble produces fewer carbon emissions than Tinder.

“No…the switch from Tinder to Bumble is more so meant to be metaphorical. It’s a bit naive of you to think anything involved in the dating scene is meant to be straightforward.” She then explained the connection between dating app usage and the “save the bees” movement.
